Venice: photoblog travel – Day 1
Venice, photoblog travel 28 nov 2019, Day 1
I’ve taken some snapshots with my smartphone post-producing them with snapseed app. This is only a selection of my first day in Venice and it’s not properly street photography but essentially spontaneous snapshots. I’ve photographed also with my fuji e Ricoh, but probably I’ll post-process and edit the photos in the following months. So let’s see my first day in Venice through the lens of my smartphone, a last-generation Xiaomi with three different lens (wide, ultra-wide, tele). Software is really bad: it’s slow when you try to take more pictures, white balance is horrible and stupid, autofocus is terrible, exposure meter is slow. Quality image is good, shooting at night or in condition in low light is problematic ’cause quality is really really bad.
Early morning, about 8:00 o’clock AM. Rome, Tiburtina train station, quick snapshot entering in the mood of the trip.
Taking photographs in train, really near to Venice city.
Finally at 12:00 PM I arrived in Venice, this is the wonderful view in front of me. I’ve underexposed the frame to obtain black silhouettes and I’ve used the ultra wide-angle lens. Good the first one.
In the following map I’ve marked the itinerary of the first day. From station to Rialto/hotel, then to San Marco, back in the north of the city and after at the end of the day again in San Marco.
Here is my hotel room, in front of Canale Grande and Rialto Bridge, in the heart of the city.
Let’s start visiting Venice with his small and beautiful alleys, here is an example.
In the following picture taken near San Marco square you can see on the right side the Giudecca island while on the left San Giorgio island. Weather was cloudy, so I take the ultra wide angle lens playing on minimalism, the two gondolas are in my opinion the plus of the photo (cherry on top). As you can see overall image quality in midday is good (except for the edges of the frame), grain was added in post-production.
Venice by night:
The tide started about at 10:30-11:00 PM, I was near Rialto bridge. Low quality images in low light conditions, the place was awesome and surreal.
The surrealism in San Marco square, high water with peak of 85-90 cm at 12:30 AM. High water starts in San Marco from 80 cm.
Last snapshot before going to sleep, the condition was perfect for a strong and contrasted black and white. I was in front of my hotel, this is the Rialto bridge (while inside it’s full of horrible and stupid boutique).
1:30 AM, ok it’s finally time to rest after hours of walking and photos. Good night folks.
End of first day.
That’s all folks
Stay well, have always light in your life
