Here is my last series published on Instagram which is a sort of personal newspaper for my street photography.
I feel a deep connection to this series of photos, mostly taken in 2023, Rome. Tones here are a bit melancholic and pessimistic but also sarcastic; these pictures currently reflect part of my vision about life and about death. I gathered images that felt meaningful to me and assembled them, much like that flat, lifeless electrocardiogram. It’s a kind of contrast between what is alive out in the streets and something that is dead. And after that caso which is called life, there is nothing. Absolutely nothing.
I use my view in the street through street photography to ask myself what is life and what is the sense of all. Maybe I take pictures on the streets to try to explain the commonday life with is essentially caos, made of beautiful, odd and bad things at the same time.
I’m obsessed with the idea that streets are a reflection of life. A collection of things happening at the same time, many of which have no particular reason behind them. I’m obsessed with the thought that, for someone, today might be the best day of their life, while at the same time, someone else is experiencing the worst day of theirs. Everything happens together, all at once, every day.
It’s a mix of emotions and experiences that each of us feels on our own skin. Every day is different, and we never know what we’ll experience. Maybe with my street photography, I try to capture these various moments, whether strange, funny, romantic, or dramatic, it doesn’t matter. What gives meaning to everything is that each moment is important to the person living it, and it becomes a part of their existence.

That’s all folks
Stay well, have always light in your life
Best, F.S.
