The street photography of Daniel Arnold
Today I want to talk about Daniel Arnold’s street photography. He is one of my favorite contemporary photographer on the streets; he usually takes pictures in NYC, Brooklyn. He is a full time street photographer and reportagist, he collaborates with international websites and newspapers as Vogue and The New York Times. He became famous on social like instagram in the last years thanks to his spontaneous and candid street shots. Daniel uses a film camera with flash, in my opinion his street photography is really insane. He captures moments of everyday life with the street photographer eye. His photos are mostly in color.
“…he captures the daily rhythms of New York street life in moments of both high drama and sublime banality…” (The New York Times)
I’m really impressed by his sensibility on the street. Arnold is spontaneous and follows his instinct, he takes photos without thinking too much about it. His philosophy is something like “if you feel the moment go for it and take the picture”. I like the way he moves on the street, he is a predator of good and spontaneous images about everyday life. It doesn’t matter the camera, it doesn’t matter film or digital…
Daniel Arnold: Street photography
I’ve posted here some of my favorite photos taken by Arnold Daniel. He has the eye, he catches wonderful and unique moments in the streets of NYC. He is authentic, he has no fear in taking pictures to strangers. As you can see he works using film camera and flash, mostly in color.
You can find more about this excellent photographer following his instagram account but also at www.daniel-arnold.org and whentosaynothing.com. If you are interested in watching Daniel Arnold in action I suggest you to watch that particular and short video on YouTube and also this one.
