During last years I’ve been looking to photograph strange or exciting scenes in the streets. I like to take pictures of common life with his common emotions as rage, love and sadness… But I like also surrealism, mystery in everyday life… Anyway the centre of my street photography are people, probably 95% of my photos taken in street are about persons. What I don’t like for sure in street photography is “walking people”. I’ll try to explain this concept better… Too many time scrolling down internet and social we look at street photos without content. Maybe pictures based only on composition, lights/shadows and walking people. I call it the walking photography in the sense that photos show simply that: persons on the street without any particular sense. In my opinion our subjects in street photography must have something more: a particular facial expression or face, hand gestures, clothes, a beautiful light and so on… But what’s the sense if they’re just walking???
Pictures below are only an example of the relation between my street photography and people in Rome. It’s all about people, just people.
That’s all folks
Stay well, have always light in your life
Best, F.S
