Street photography gallery: new entries
Few days ago I’ve updated my street photography gallery with two new entries. This gallery, always in evolution, contains only my best shots (or at least those ones I prefer). I’m really critic with my work, sometimes too much. I upload on my website only the best images while I use Instagram more for fun and recent update about my street photography. This time I’ve introduced in gallery two photos taken during my recent trips. First one was shot in Venice on novembre 2019 while the other one was taken in Russia on February 2020. If you are following me also on Instagram probably you’ve just seen them. By the way after days I’ve decided to add these two images to my personal best. Gallery changes continuously, I add and delete pictures; in few words nothing lasts forever except for really work of art.
Street photography: Venice 2019
I’ve taken this photo with a tele-lens mounted on my fuji, I was on the balcony of St Marco Basilica. It was November during one of the floods, very frequent in that period (especially that autumn 2019). I tried to give “a touch of surrealism and romanticism” at the same time. I’ve taken different pictures with different subjects. This couple was really nice, a kiss would have been even better, but I’m happy also with this. Image is simple, black and white, few elements like a minimalism. Message is clear.
Street photogtraphy: Rostov-Velikij 2020
This second photo is more particular. Usually I don’t like talking about backstage in my street photography especially for this kind of photo. Explanations behind a picture like this can destroy all the mystery, the questions and “the insane interest” of a strange and uncommon moment. By the way I’ve taken this picture in Russia on February 2020. The man you’re seeing was totally drunk. He was kicked out the bar; he was trying to go back inside, with some difficulties as you can see in this photo. I’ve chosen colors instead of classic black and white because I like the contrast between cold and hot tones; it helps also to read better the photo distinguishing the different elements of the scene.
I’ve captured different moments changing angles and distances. I tried also to give an hand to the man without success, he was really drunk. You can see below how I worked the scene, it was very difficult to make a choice during the editing process.
This is an alternative version of this small series, my second choice, more surreal than first photo. At the moment I still prefer my first choice that I’ve published in my street photography gallery.
That’s all folks
Stay well, have always light in your life
