Russia – photoblog travel Part 4
Russia photoblog travel Part 4 – Finally last part of my journey has come; about 4 days in the magnificent St Petersburg, set in the north of Russia. I reached the city from Moscow with an high velocity train, travel was really confort and funny. Unfortunately snow disappeared completely once arrived in the new city.
St. Petersburg, a wonderful city designed and built by many italian architects; big streets, churches and buildings, awesome metro stations… City centre is crossed by different rivers, the main is the Neva which is the biggest one. When I came in town unfortunately there were not ice and snow, so I’ve seen a different St. Petersburg in winter. I’ll return one day to see it covered in snow. Street photography session are funny and productive along the Nevskij Prospect, the big street in the centre of the town, full of people and really interesting and particular characters. Most of people don’t care about you and this is good. I’ve made also some street shots using flash under the rain with my Ricoh.
This is an awesome cinema along the main street; in march was projected La dolce vita by Federico Fellini on big screen for the 100th anniversary from his birth. Magnificent architecture and interiors…
Kazan cathedral, built similar to St. Pietro in Vaticano (Rome). This is the religious centre of the city, inside there is an icona famous in the whole country with a lot of “pilgrims” that visit it every day.
A small series of the Neva river, unfortunately without ice and snow… I’ve taken few long expositions with my Nikon mounted on tripod.
A visit to the famous Hermitage museum, a great palace with awesome interiors and full of famous artist’s works.
In St. Petersburg there is a big church with walls full of mosaics. The view impact is awesome.
May the force will be with you in the street.
Underground in St. Petersburg is really fascinating, probably not as beautiful as subway in Moscow, but equally a “must watch” of the city. Stations are always clean, there is security, train service looks really efficient and quick.
This is the most elegant and beautiful station I’ve seen. No one has told me something, I photographed without problems.
I’ve made an interesting and funny street photography session in stations but also inside the trains; I was discrete using my smartphone instead of my camera.
This young couple of lovers was awesome, they don’t care about nothing else than themselves. They were kind, lovely. The moment became eternal and pure in front of my eyes. I started taking some pictures trying to work the better I could the scene.
I’ve selected here two best shots of the moment, this time I don’t use black and white because I like the colors of the two jackets, especially the red one.
This is my “digital sheet contacts”, I’ve taken a lot of pictures without problem, smartphone has a lot of vantages in some conditions. Unfortunately quality is bad, because the camera of my Xiaomi sucks! I’ve taken 31 photos, I’m really happy with the final results!
Unfortunatly my journey has finished, it’s time to back in my city, Rome (Italy).
That’s all folks
Stay well, have always light in your life
