Lee Jeffries is a (spiritual) photographer based in Manchester famous for his stunning and strong homeless portraits post-produced in wonderful bw and color versions. In these day I’ve bought his last book: Portraits; it is a collection of his best shoots taken all around the world, from L.A. to Rome, from Manchester to London, from New York to Seattle. This project started this summer on kickstarter with large successful. At the end book was printed only in 3000 copies (plus 15 in artist edition), still available in these days, printed in really high quality material.
I know Lee Jeffries’ works for years so I was not surprised by the photos with stunning human faces in this book. Quality print is really awesome and in my opinion it justify the price (125 Euros). Images are great, style is unique. Inside there are three prefaces respectively by Josh Brolin, Giovanni Cozzi and Denis Curti. There are bw and colors shoots; for many images you can find also a nice description about the subject and the personal experience of the photographer with him. I’m really happy to have bought this book, I appreciate the great work made by Lee Jeffries in these years. Actually this is not a classic of course, but maybe, in the following years it could become so. The quality of this book is excellent: paper is awesome, bw and colors photos are printed in high quality, the size and format is perfect.
