Just added another photo to my street photography gallery in the emotions section. I took this candid picture of two lovers in 2021, in the center of Rome. I can’t recall the exact moment because I edited it now, about 3 years later. I have confused memories about it; after revisiting it on my hard disk, I vaguely recall the moment. I like it because it’s one of those street photos taken quickly, on impulse, in an elusive and sudden manner, as is my usual style. The digital noise and slight blur make the moment more passionate and emotional.
This is the direction I have chosen for my street photography in the last 5-6 years. The photos aim for pure emotion, preferably melancholic even in positive moments like a simple kiss. I also enjoy playing with the surreal, and recently, I’ve been delving into science fiction-inspirede lighting. Let’s call it a ‘project’ – a street photography endeavor that plays with a surreal image to convey the unease of living in the frenzy of modern times. The Pink Floyd album ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ has inspired me. But we’ll have a chance to talk about it someday. I hope… Right now stay focused on love on the streets of Rome. I hope you’ll enjoy it.
That’s all folks
Stay well, have always light in your life
Best, F.S
