Here we go with my latest addition of street photography in Rome on my Instagram page.
I shoot these pictures in 2022-2023 (except the one at the sea that was in 2010) in Rome. Currently I’m editing pictures taken from 2020 to 2023, and looking at them I found a lot of garbage, hundreds of photos to cancel forever from my hard disk. I saved few shots, those photos are among those obviously.
No more words, it’s time to dive in this short street photography series set mostly in Rome.
Street photography in Rome – 2022/2023 plus 1 bonus
I want to open with the big shot. I love this first picture, it’s 100% my style. I remember I was at Pincio (maybe 2022), a famous location in Rome. It was sunset, i took two pictures of this couple from two different sides. Love the pose, gestures, girl’s hairs, warm colors and the overall scene… I consider that shot an hit and probably I’ll add it to main gallery.

As you can see by yourself, in the following pictures I was attracted by body parts (essentially arms and hands) that I photographed in a surreal way. This is another typical thing that usually i like to photograph. Hand gestures, surrealism, emotions: boom, got it!

And now it’s humor time with the next one, always in Rome, downtown.

While the following picture it’s a bit odd. I’m not 100% confident in showing you because I don’t like really much the humor message. But I like the moment, the expression and how i compose the scene. I was very very close, they never noticed me. It’s a disturbing scene in my opinion. I like that we don’t see the face of the man in the foreground, it’s more disturbing.

Another funny/surreal moment. We are in Venice Square, near Colosseum, absolutly the centre of Rome. I love shooting subjects with long hairs when is windy like in that case. Look at this, really like this shot.

Next one remind me a piece of music by Ennio Morricone: Poverty. What a masterpice guys! You can listen this track in a wonderful sequence of Once upon a time in America directed by Sergio Leone. Check it out (link directly below the picture).

Next one was taken in 2010, Italy. I was playing with shutter speed, experiencing long times exposure, the thing that initially brought me closer to photography. Funny result, surreal enough for me. Maybe I have to try again more of this in my photography. I’m too closed-minded and tradizionalist. Really bad.

Then we can close this small series with two shots where the sun is the main subject in such way: a cityscape with cloudy sky at sunset and a classic frame (more stupid) counter light.

Time to say hello to my readers. Hope you enjoy this small series and my photography. I’m trying to improve myself as person and photographer every day. See you soon with the next update.
That’s all folks
Stay well, have always light in your life
Best, F.S.
