Finally I’ve add another image on my main gallery.
I’m very hard on myself when it comes to judging my pictures for a selection. Out of the thousands of shots I took, I choose a handful to share on my Instagram and blog. And even fewer make it into the main gallery of this website; I consider it something like my Best of or my personal Hall of Fame.
Let’s dive into the heart of this new article with my new picture added to my street photography gallery. I know it’s not the first time (neither the last one) but the subject is still a classic and sentimental one. As you know, I’m essentially an emotion-driven street photographer, human emotions drive my view in the streets and everyday life.
When, where, How?
This photo was taken during the Covid period, in Rome (my hometown), about 3–4 years ago. I was out shooting with some fellow photographers, which is quite rare for me, since I usually shoot in peaceful solitude.

I captured this scene at sunset in Rome, near the Pincio overlook. I photographed the couple from two opposite angles as I passed by. Interestingly, if I remember well, none of the other photographers with me took shots of that moment. It wasn’t due to distraction probably, as there wasn’t anything else around. So no distractions.
I believe it comes down to a difference in personal sensitivity, simply a different way of seeing and feeling, a different approach and style. And that, honestly, makes me happy. It’s what sets us apart in how we interpret everyday moments in the streets.
I took only two pictures of that moment, I didn’t want to be noticed ruining the atmosphere. For the main gallery I choose the first picture; I know that probably the light was better in the other photo but I prefer the pose, gestures and expressions of the first one.
To explain better the situation and the place this time I’ve also added some pictures of the location taken directly from Google Earth 3D, here on the blog. You can see better the place in 3D and in street view mode.

Hope you enjoyed the process, the idea and the final results.
That’s all folks
Stay well, have always light in your life
Best, F.S.
